Our client, a top tier Management & Strategy Consulting firm is searching a qualified Sr. Project Manager (AML/KYC) for a top-tier US Bank.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Lead the full deployment lifecycle of the KYC operations function, from planning and design to execution and go-live. Ensure alignment with the bank’s target state vision for KYC across people, processes, and technology.
- Target State Implementation: Translate the defined target state into detailed project plans, milestones, and deliverables, and drive implementation across multiple business and technical workstreams.
- Change Management: Develop and execute comprehensive change management strategies to ensure the smooth adoption of the new KYC function, including training, communication, and transition planning for impacted teams.
- Team Mobilization: Lead efforts to hire, mobilize, and onboard key personnel for the KYC operations function. Build a team capable of executing KYC operational requirements in a scalable and compliant manner.
- Process Design & Optimization: Oversee the design and implementation of new KYC processes, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements, operational efficiencies, and customer service standards.
- Technology Deployment: Collaborate with IT and technology vendors to ensure the successful deployment of KYC technology platforms. Ensure proper integration with existing systems, data management, and reporting capabilities.
- Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary point of contact for senior management, regulatory bodies, and key stakeholders, providing updates on progress, risks, and mitigation strategies.
- Risk & Compliance: Ensure that the new KYC operations are fully compliant with all relevant regulatory standards (e.g., AML, OFAC, CIP), policies, and controls.
- Performance Tracking & Reporting: Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for the KYC function, providing regular reports to senior leadership and adjusting strategies as necessary to meet objectives.
- Budget Management: Manage the project budget and resources, ensuring the KYC function is delivered on time and within financial constraints.
- Continuous Improvement: Post-implementation, lead continuous improvement initiatives to refine and optimize KYC processes and technology.
- Proven track record as a Senior Project Manager, with a minimum of 8-10 years of experience in financial services or compliance-related projects, particularly within KYC, AML, or regulatory environments.
- Strong understanding of project management principles and methodologies (Agile, Waterfall), with the ability to manage multiple cross-functional workstreams. KYC/AML
- In-depth knowledge of KYC operations, regulatory requirements, and compliance standards, with experience deploying KYC functions at scale.
- Demonstrated experience leading complex change management initiatives, including communication, training, and stakeholder engagement.
- Proven ability to build, lead, and mentor project teams, including experience in hiring and scaling operations.
- Familiarity with KYC technology platforms, system integration, and data management.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience working closely with senior leadership, regulatory bodies, and cross-functional teams.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a strategic mindset and the ability to navigate complex regulatory environments.
- Experience in Tier 1 or Tier 2 banks, specifically in the implementation of compliance or risk management functions.
- Certifications: CAMS (Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist) certification is a plus.
- Regulatory Expertise: Strong understanding of U.S. regulatory frameworks, including BSA/AML, OFAC, and Patriot Act requirements.
