Our client is seeking an Application Solution Architect to design and lead API and real-time streaming architectures (Kafka-based) within financial services environments. This role will drive modern, scalable, and secure platform design across event-driven and API-first ecosystems.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
- Design and lead real-time data architecture using Kafka, Spark, and microservices
- Define and implement API-first and event-driven architectures across hybrid cloud environments
- Establish architecture standards for performance, scalability, resilience, and high availability
- Embed security and compliance across APIs and streaming platforms (OAuth2, mTLS, encryption)
- Guide clients through modernization from legacy systems to event-driven platforms
- Collaborate with business, engineering, and security stakeholders to deliver enterprise architecture solutions
- Provide architectural governance and ensure adherence to financial services regulatory standards
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in solution or enterprise architecture
- Strong expertise in Apache Kafka and real-time streaming platforms
- Experience designing REST APIs, asynchronous systems, and microservices architectures
- Experience with API gateways and integration patterns
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and hybrid architectures
- Experience in financial services environments (banking, payments, capital markets, or lending)
- Understanding of regulatory frameworks (PCI-DSS, SOX, etc.)
- Strong stakeholder communication and consulting/advisory experience
