Our client is seeking a Technical BA Trade Surveillance professional to elicit, define, and document trade and communications surveillance requirements across multiple asset classes, translating business needs into clear technical specifications for development teams.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
- Elicit, define, and document Trade Surveillance and Communications Surveillance requirements across multiple asset classes
- Develop clear functional and technical requirements for surveillance scenarios, parameters, and alerts related to market abuse
- Translate business requirements into data and technical specifications for developers, including entity relationships and data models
- Work closely with development teams to explain data structures, joins, and logic required to build surveillance solutions
- Validate data outputs by performing detailed testing and review of surveillance scenarios and datasets
- Analyse trade and market data to ensure completeness, accuracy, and regulatory relevance
- Support BAU surveillance operations through continuous improvement of rules, scenarios, and reporting
Requirements
- 8-10 years of experience in trade surveillance or related financial services business analysis
- Expert-level knowledge of trade lifecycle and market abuse and trade surveillance requirements
- Hands-on expertise in SQL including query optimization, inner joins, outer joins, and complex query writing
- Strong understanding of entity relationship diagrams (ERDs) and data models
- Proficiency in surveillance scenario definition and parameter configuration
- Experience with field-level mappings and managing multiple datasets
- Proven ability to perform data validation and ensure regulatory compliance across trading datasets
