Our client, a top tier Management Consulting firm, is seeking an Mainframe/COBOL Developer who is experienced working with mainframe systems to help implement a change to support correspondence generation in multiple languages (English and Spanish), including updating/creating reference tables and substitution variables
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop and maintain Mainframe COBOL, JCL & Copybooks to meet project requirements
- Develop and execute unit test and integration plans/scripts to validate that application changes meet technical specifications.
- Participate in technical reviews at appropriate stages of development
- Interface with business and IT teams to understand business requirements and translate business requirements into formal technical requirements and application code
- Work with IT support teams (EIA, DA/DBA, server teams) to ensure support and project requirements are developed and successfully implemented
- Work with business team to complete acceptance testing and participate in integration testing
- Provide Solution Delivery Methodology artifacts associated with application components.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of mainframe Development background in design, analysis and coding: COBOL (CICS), JCL, CICS, CA7, DB2, batch processing
- IT technical background & mainframe programming experience especially z370 and MVS 2.04
- Ability to work independently on enhancements to Cobol programs and subprograms and can compile, run, and debug on an IBM z370 environment
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for working in a global environment
